Dental Implants in Carlsbad, CA

Dental implants are recommended for those seeking a permanent solution to missing teeth. They are designed to look natural while also giving you the ability to have stable function of natural teeth. Dental implants are surgically placed into the mouth by inserting a titanium anchor into your jaw. After the anchor is placed, the bone will heal (about 6 months) around the titanium and hold it into place. When your dentist thinks you are ready, they will place your custom made artificial tooth into the anchor.

Our dentist or dental implant specialists have the expertise in implant dentistry. At Carlsbad Dental Associates, offer a variety of dental implants, including single teeth, bridges and implant retained dentures, that look natural and feel great. Your dentist will recommend the best solution for you. And with our convenient hours and gentle, quality care, you’ll be ready to show off your smile again soon.
Dental implants are not recommended for everyone. In order to be eligible to receive implants, you must have enough bone structure to support the implant, free of chronic illnesses and must ensure that you will maintain proper oral hygiene to care for a new implant.

Dental Implants Procedure

Getting dental implants requires a number of visits over several months. The dentist will begin by taking x-rays and impressions, or molds, of the jaw and teeth to gather information about bone tissue, gum tissue, and available spacing for implants. Once the implants are crafted from the molds, the dentist will numb the patient and surgically place them into the bone. Healing and proper bone integration can take up to six months.

Some implants come with pre-attached posts where others may require a second surgery for placement of the posts that anchor the artificial teeth. Once the posts are in place and the mouth is fully healed, the dentist will mount the artificial teeth. Since adjustment may be necessary, several fitting sessions are often required over the course of one to two months. When tooth alignment is confirmed and healing is complete, the dentist permanently secures the artificial teeth to the implant, providing long-term stability and comfort for the patient.

The dentist will provide care instructions when the treatment is complete. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits all aid in the life of your new implants.
